Neem oil is extracted from the Azadirachta Indica cultivated in tropical and sub-tropical areas of Asia, Africa, America (Central and South), the Middle East, Australia and Oceania. an ‘evergreen’ that can grow up to 25 metres, live up to 300 years, and produces small yellowish fruits containing one or more seeds in a hard kernel, from which the oil is extracted. The plant belongs to the Meliaceae family and is now known worldwide for its extraordinary properties and multiple applications. In the seeds there is the greatest variety and concentration, although in the other parts of the tree (leaves, bark, wood, roots, fruit pulp, flowers) there are substances with medicinal effects.
Its vitamin E and essential fatty acid content make it suitable for preventive and revitalising treatments in the presence of parasites.
A non-toxic remedy for humans, plants and animals, it is effective in the fight against insects, cryptogams and mosquitoes, both as a repellent because insects cannot tolerate its odour. By using it, we have the double advantage of keeping mosquitoes away and not having to suffer any unpleasant side effects.
Neem Oil is widely used in crop protection against pests, insects, nematodes, fungi and viruses.
The benefits of Neem Oil in agriculture and horticulture are:
■ helps maintain environmental health by reducing the level of pollution.
■ reduces the cost of agricultural production and also improves soil health.

If you want to counteract fungal attacks, replace the lemongrass soft soap with the same baking soda or sulphur soap.
It is also useful when sprayed in stagnant water (saucers, flower pots, gutters, small deposits that cannot be covered, etc.) to prevent mosquito larvae from reaching full development.
Apply as a preventive measure once every 2-3 weeks. Due to its oily consistency, it is advisable to dilute the product (1 teaspoon) in 1 teaspoon of soft soap and mix well until the product mixes, then add water. Apply by spraying onto the leaves and stems, particularly the underside of the leaves where pests lurk most.
