The Florades product is very interesting in that it is a detergent with action against bacteria, fungi and even viruses, and its effectiveness against these distinguishes it from other products already on the market. Saliquaternary salts and p.e. alcohol are not satisfactory for their action against viruses.
Menno Florades is phytotolerant, so it is suitable for foliar treatments in bacterial diseased crops. The product reacts on contact which means that in an emergency it can stop a secondary infection. Phytotolerance has been demonstrated on Pelargonium, Begonias and Spathiphyllum. In the first two species, it is able to eliminate the distribution of diseased bacterial cultures; on Spathiphyllum, on the other hand, it succeeds in combating Cylindrocladium spathiphylli.
Its use in tomatoes is particularly interesting. Menno Florades also eliminates very persistent viruses such as TMV. Research also shows efficacy against the tomato virus PepinoMosaic, which appeared a decade ago. It is also certainly an excellent product to control Clavibacter michiganensis. This bacterial disease is mainly transmitted on grafted plants through the working knives, which are the most dangerous vehicle for disease in this type of processing.
