PRESTOBIO – PROCESSIONARY MOTH TRAP | PLANTS 10 TO 30 CM IN DIAMETER

A 100% natural solution, this trap is the effective answer to combating pine processionary moth larvae. Placed on the trunk of the tree, the trap intercepts the larvae as they descend along the trunk in single file to reach the ground and bury themselves.

Trap composition :
For trees ranging from 10 to 30 cm in diameter (3 to 9 modules) :
– 9 modules
– 1 bottle holder module
– 1 flexible grating
– 1 closing lace
– 1 tube

Precautions for use:
Avoid contact with larvae. Their hairs are highly urticant and can cause serious phenomena: allergies, breathing difficulties, irritation…
– Traps should preferably be placed out of reach of children and animals.
– The descent of the larvae can take some time. It is possible for them to remain in the ditches for several days. No action should be taken to activate their progress.
– The trap must remain set until the end of the processional period.
– When handling the trap, protect your face, eyes and hands with gloves-glasses and appropriate clothing.
– When trapping is finished, withdraw and rinse the trap modules thoroughly.
– Pour hot water (60°C) into the bottle containing the larvae and dispose of it in a landfill.

Tips

For positioning:
Ensure that the trap adheres perfectly to the bark.
The grating must be applied against the trunk in order to create a barrier and prevent any larvae from escaping. If necessary, place the trap at a height where the trunk is more even, or flatten the bark a little.

To eliminate trapped larvae:
Once the trapping period is over, withdraw the bottle. Pour hot water (approx. 60°C) into the bottle to eliminate the stinging effect and dispose of in a landfill.
