Citric acid is a weak acid contained in plant organisms: lemon juice, for example, contains 5 to 7% of it, but it is also found in other fruits, many other foods, mushrooms, wood, milk. It is extracted and crystallised and has many applications in ecological cleaning. It can be used for all washable surfaces, as an all-purpose cleaner, in the washing machine as a descaling and softening agent, in the dishwasher instead of rinse aid (which should never be used, because it remains as a dish residue and you eat it up with the next meal), and in the kitchen as a citric acid.

Citric acid is NOT used pure, but should be dissolved in water, possibly distilled. It can replace in an environmentally friendly way some traditional products, which often contain substances that pollute the environment and are even dangerous to humans.
